SPY REPORT
From the shores of Niytyole,
If they think iron bars can stop the tide, they are wrong. From my invisible cage,
overlooking the sands, I hear every roar of the crowd, every screech of steel, and
every name shouted into the wind. Niytyole Island pretends this is an arena. I know it
better than any of you. It is a reef, and many ships have cracked upon it, including
this turn.
Kiki Villyn rose like a black wave coming at moonrise, casting down Anneli and
claiming the Duelmaster's mantle. The sands belong to her now. Mark her name on the
logs, for she will not drift quietly, like the previous Duelmaster, Angel's Envy, who
pulled a no-show this turn. Kiki will turn her sails towards AD and the Isle of the
Eye in a fortnight.
Some warriors sought glory, while others sought shelter. I saw M.U.M.ers steer wide of
The Illearth. Their sails were slack and their courage leaking like bilgewater. Avoids
tell more truths than boasts. Remember that. Robber received more challenges than
anyone else, and he tested himself against Soulslicer. He proved that Fear the Dark is
no idle name, turning back the wily challenger with skill and focus.
If challenges were cannon fire, Sandy Claws loaded and fired without pause, hurling
himself at MTV. He fell, but no one can say he hid. That counts for something, even on
this island. Cyndi Lauper sang loud and true, beating Bungee Lips in a 4-minute bout.
It was a challenge that reminded the arena that the 1980's still drew blood.
Emu's Strain bid farewell to Selwynor after La Llorona issued a challenge and a death
warrant upon him. Selwynor's death was the only death upon the regular sands.
Blackberry Thorn clawed his way back from the abyss, furious and breathing. A rare
thing. A dangerous thing.
The crowd has its favorites, as always. Wyldfyre burned brightest in their eyes this
day. Porto Chubb takes over the overall spot with Friar Tawk's ascension to the
advanced games. Not all power comes from the sword. Some comes from being remembered.
The winds are shifting. The sands are restless. The sea watches. I remained chained by
these invisible bonds to the island. Return in a fortnight to see what the tides will
bring to us.
