Anybody excited to watch the Wheel of Time series on Amazon? I had no idea they were making it until trailers started coming out. Talk about a task...you thought Martin's GOT/Song of Ice and Fire was epic...I read most the series back in late 90's. IMO, first 6 or 7 books were awesome then started to bog down with too many threads. Then, Jordan dies. (Take note, GRRM) Sanderson finished the series but I don't think I read the last few books. So I guess the ending's still a mystery for me!
Rosamund Pike looks like the only big name in it, she seems like a good pic for Moiraine from what I can tell (and remember). Wondering how many books the first season will cover!

I Iook forward to seeing how this show goes. I have very low expectations, after the garbage that was GoT. Those last few seasons we awful. But fingers crossed.
I hope they do Lan and Mat right. Will just have to wait and see though. I did see the trialer for it, was all about Morraine though. Hope they dont just dwell on her character since she is the headliner for the show.

I loved the books and read the series, more than once including the books Sanderson wrote. I will watch it, but it looks like this season will only be 6 or 7 episodes so assume its only 1 book. Too much to cover otherwise and still do it justice imo.

Well I watched the first 3 episodes, they're not rushing it. Actually spending some time on character development. At this pace they'll need about 15 seasons to get to the end! The trollocs and fades are pretty nasty and well done. Kind of thought the actors playing Matt and Rand should be switched. Noticed Rosamund Pike is the main producer as well, wonder if she actually read the series back when and loved it or how she got hold of the project. A pretty cool intro, they didn't quite get to G.O.T. level but nice try. Gonna keep watching...
